In 2007, Kenyans came out in large numbers to exercise their constitutional right to vote. However, peace was not to be after as the chaos that emerged as a result of contested election results spread all over the country.
Many people lost their lives and thousands are still homeless as they have nowhere to call home.
Six people have been named as the key instigators of the post election violence and crimes against humanity. They are:
1. Hon William Ruto MP Eldoret North. (Former Minister for Higher Education)
2. Hon Henry Kosgey MP. Tinderet & Minister for Industrialization
3.Hon Uhuru Kenyatta MP Gatundu South, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance
4.Francis Muthaura Head of The Civil Service & Secretary to The Cabinet
5.Major General (Rtd) Hussein Ali Former Police Commissioner
6. Joshua Sang Presenter Kass FM.
Kenya has been a signatory of the Rome Statues that allow for the International Crimes Court to try cases of crimes against humanity.
Now to support the above, parliament (with the exception of the only honourable MP in my opinion-Martha Karua) has gone ahead to pull Kenya out of the Rome Statute.
People loost their lives for crying out loud! What the MPs are telling us is that they have absolutely no concern for the same people who voted for them! How inhuman can they be?
In 2012, you can rest assured that the only person I'll be voting for is the only honourable member in the house.
